After over a year of bargaining and community engagement efforts, Cupe 399 and 1048 have reached an agreement with the Employer that addresses key needs of members. On Tuesday, August 22nd, one of our members was seriously injured while at work. It has been an extremely tough week for our membership. Our thoughts are with our colleague and their family as they navigate this extremely difficult time as well as everyone else who suffered injuries as a result of the explosion.
No one expects to go to work and be seriously injured. Incidents like this remind us of the importance of our commitment to creating a safe and healthy work environment.
Our immediate priority has been ensuring all CUPE 399 and 1048 members have the support they need and that will continue to be our focus in the coming days.
